Grievance Policy:

Participant Grievance Policy

DreamTree Project provides the following grievance policy for program participants and parents/guardians.

  1. The person meets with a staff member to determine if the grievance is against a person, the program, or a condition.

  2. The person may request assistance with composing a written statement of the grievance and the person’s suggested resolution of the grievance. Only an uninvolved staff person may assist. Staff must do this in a neutral and professional manner.

  3. The written statement must be signed and dated, with the aforementioned staff person signing as a witness.

  4. The grievance will then be given to the Program Director to review. A meeting will then be arranged between the person and the Program Director in order to review the grievance. The Program Director will investigate the complaint and follow up with reports to authorities if required. If the grievance is with the Program Director, the review will be conducted with the Executive Director.

  5. The Program Director will work with the person filing the grievance towards a resolution and put it in writing for all parties to sign.

  6. The person and the Program Director will sign the review.

  7. If the person is not satisfied with the resolution, the Executive Director will be given the grievance for review. A meeting will be arranged between the person and the Executive Director.

  8. The Executive Director has the final and last decision, unless the grievance is against the Executive Director, in which case the proposed resolution will be given to the Board of Directors for review. The Board of Directors will then have the final and last decision.
